How to make a public records request
of our C.D.D.

C.D.D. Subject to the Florida Public Records Law

Like all C.D.D.s, our C.D.D. is a government entity, and as such is subject to the Florida Public Records law, chapter 119, Florida Statutes.

A request may be oral, but it is customary to put a request in writing if you are requesting several items.

Here is an example of how to write your request:

"Pursuant to the Florida Public Records law, chapter 119, Florida Statutes, I request copies of the following record(s):" (then list the document(s) that you want.)

By law a public entity can charge a uniform rate for the copies, not more than 15 cents per page or 20 cents for two-sided copies.
