The above site is for the elected Board that administers all public schools.  The Hillsborough School District is one of the best in the nation.  This site has many links and provides a starting point for all information about the public school system. The administrative offices are located in downtown Tampa.  Take the crosstown expressway, exit at Kennedy Blvd.  The County Health Department is next door, also on Kennedy Blvd.

Camp Frontier in Wimauma  

From the web site: "Camp Frontier offers an Over-Night Program (ages 8 to 14), a Day Camp Program (ages 6 to 14), and a Counselor-In-Training Program for youth (ages 15 to 17). Camp Frontier is a non-denominational traditional American Summer Camp with children and youth of all faiths attending from several countries. Camp Frontier is located on over 200 acres just south of Tampa on Florida's West Coast. Summer Camp 2004 begins Sunday, June 13th and concludes on Saturday, August 21st - Ten Weeks!"

History note: Captain Davis extended the Seaboard Railroad through the Wimauma area in 1902.  While driving to Wimauma, I always try to remember the names of Captain Davis' three daughters for whom he named the area .... they were Willie, Maud, and Mary.
